Vandalism

[edit]

This article has been vandalized, but I cannot revert to a previous save because the links to previous saves point to dummy pages - for example, my edits point to an editcounter page I created in April 2009, not to the edits I made in July 2008.

Anyone know what is going on here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lexington50 (talkcontribs) 07:31, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I realize that people don't want this to be a stub,

[edit]

but if people want to know how to make char cloth, They will go to wikiHOW! Wikipedia isn't a how to site, unless it's talking about previous and past methods of doing something, not detailed steps.````70.246.224.158 (talk) 02:44, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

More Information?

[edit]

I don't understand why information about how char cloth is produced is inappropriate for wikipedia, but information on many methods of producing charcoal is appropriate for wikipedia? Specifying what something is, how it is used and how it is made seems to be okay for an encyclopedia article. I agree that a "how-to" recipe should not be the article, but the former references/links to other pages with "how-to" information seems like it should be okay. What am I not understanding? It would be helpful if there was more historical information. Kortoso (talk) 16:42, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you disagree with adding how-to details here...

[edit]

...why not add a link to the appropriate WikiHow page? I will look again, but I am pretty sure I did not see one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikimurphia (talkcontribs) 13:33, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am working on this stub

[edit]

Hello, I have been working on this stub as part of a university assignment for this past semester. As I am new to this, please notify me if any changes I have made are inappropriate. Thanks. Elizaweb (talk) 04:29, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

These are not true...

[edit]

From the article...

Char cloth is not commercially available.

From me...

You can buy char cloth from a number of websites... Amazon, Ebay, Etsy, as well as some online bushcraft and survival shops.

From the article...

Char cloth is not readily available, it will need to be prepared at home before departing on a camping trip or outdoor adventure.

From me...

This misleads readers to believe they must make it themselves. As stated above, a number of websites sell char cloth.
